Giclee Prints
Pronounced ‘jee-clay’, giclée printing is a fine art, digital print process. High quality archival inks are used to produce a print from an original artwork to museum quality standards.
Small framed giclee prints – a range of small framed prints, reproduced from original artworks in the Towner Collection, exclusively produced and framed for Towner by fine art printer King & McGaw. These small-scale prints are giclee printed on 300gsm Monte Carlo textured watercolour paper, hand torn and shadow mounted in an Oak finish frame. They are glazed with 2mm continuous cast acrylic for safety, optical clarity and UV protection. Cast acrylic is also recyclable. This range is not limited edition.
Limited Edition Giclee art prints
Each print is produced in a limited number, hand finished and hand numbered. Each print comes with a certificate of authentication. Towner offers several ranges of unframed Limited Edition Giclee art prints –
- Towner Editions. These editions are published by Towner and feature works from the Towner Collection. They are produced exclusively for Towner by specialist art printer King & McGaw to the same size as the original work. They are printed on 300gsm Monet Carlo mould-made rag paper. Each print is hand numbered and presented with a certificate of authentication.
- Bookroom Art Press & Mainstone Press Editions –a range of limited edition giclee prints from two quality fine art publishers. Prints are hand numbered, and come with a certificate of authentication. See each print description for details of papers etc
Towner Artists Editions - Exclusive editions created just for Towner by the contemporary artists in our exhibition programme. Edition numbers are limited (typically less than 50), and each print is hand signed by the artists and presented in a folio. Print methods used vary for each edition but might include silkscreen, archival giclee or hand stamped. (See each print for its specific description regarding process and paper used). All profits from Artists Editions support Towner’s Programme.
Custom Print Service – available online only. A bespoke service, which offers reproduction prints of original artworks from the Towner Collection, printed, framed and sent directly to your chosen delivery address, by our partner King & McGaw from their print studio in Sussex.
Custom Prints are inkjet printed using light-fast UV cured pigment inks on matt smooth 250gsm conservation digital paper. The prints are offered in a range of sizes, unframed or in a choice of frame. Please note - Due to the bespoke nature of these prints, once an order has been placed it cannot be cancelled, exchanged or refunded if you change your mind.
