Cuckmere Haven - Custom Print
King & McGaw

Eric Ravilious (1903 – 1942) was a British painter, designer, illustrator and wood-engraver, renowned for his iconic watercolour landscapes of the South Downs and English countryside. The Towner in Eastbourne (where Ravilious grew up) has long been the custodian of the largest collection of his work.
Cuckmere Haven (1939) is undoubtedly one of the artist's most popular and iconic works, perfectly capturing the space, colour and atmosphere of the Sussex landscape. Ravilious’ painting traces the sinuous curves of the Cuckmere river as it meanders through the chalky downlands of East Sussex before flowing into the English Channel.
The original painting is part of the Towner Collection. Dimensions of original work: W58 x H41.8cm
