River Thames at Hammersmith - Custom Print
King & McGaw

Eric Ravilious (1903 – 1942) was a British painter, designer, illustrator and wood-engraver, renowned for his iconic watercolour landscapes of the South Downs and English countryside. The Towner in Eastbourne (where Ravilious grew up) has long been the custodian of the largest collection of his work.
In the early 1930s, Ravilious lived with his wife, artist Tirzah Garwood, in Hammersmith at the corner of Upper Mall and Weltje Road with a view over The Boat Race course on the River Thames. The scene depicted in River Thames at Hammersmith (1933) is just a 10-minute walk along the river to the west of their flat, with a view of the Chiswick eyot.
The original painting is part of the Towner Collection. Dimensions of original work: W53 x H37.8cm
